Some quick Movie Reviews

May 1, 2007

Over the weekend, we watched a few movies. Most of them are older, so I decided to do a bulk review on one post, rather than do a lengthy post for each review.

Starring: Viggo Mortensen and J.K. Simmons

I was under the impression this film was an action/adventure film, when it definitely is not. I probably may have liked it more if I was expecting what it is: a drama, with a little adventure. It was a pretty boring movie, and didn’t really keep my interest at all.

My Rating: 5.5/10

Shall We Dance

Starring: Richard Gere, Jennifer Lopez and Susan Sarandon

I had actually heard good things about this movie, and despite knowing it was nothing but a chick flick, we decided on watching it anyways. Well, it was enjoyable, but not because it was a good movie. We spent the whole time making funny of how absolutely ridiculous the plot is, and how the movie has absolutely no point. A guy likes to ballroom dance, and is shy and slightly creepy about it. It’s pointless, and the only good thing about it was getting to look at Jennifer Lopez.

My Rating: 4/10

The Glass House

Starring: Leelee Sobieski, Diane Lane and Stellan Skarsgard

This movie was originally released in 2001, and I was surprised it took me this long to see it. I expected junk, but it actually wasn’t too bad as far as teen thrillers go. We wanted to watch a movie we could sit back and didn’t have to think about, and this is definitely one of those. Not the greatest film around, but better than I thought it would be.

My Rating: 6/10

The Wild Boyz: Seasons 3 & 4

Starring: Steve-O and Chris Pontius

Seasons 3 & 4 of the tv show Wild Boyz, starring the former Jackass stars were combined into one DVD set. I enjoyed the first two seasons, and decided to check this one out. It’s basically, Jackass meets The Crocodile Hunter. The Wild Boyz travel across the world and do stupid things that hurt themselves. Seasons 1 & 2 were much, much better, but this one was still worth the watch.

My Rating: 6.5/10

  1. I kind of liked hidalgo and I don’t know why. Maybe it was the whole man and his best friend thing.

  2. I read a review about Hidalgo that saw it as a piece of USA patroitism and anti-mussolim propaganda. Other than that I kind of liked it.

YOu are a good boyfriend, Shall We Dance?

  3. Haha, except that I had already seen it!
I liked it the first time, but the second time was slightly ruined by the silly boys and their incredibly silly comments. 🙂
